Soldier On: Supporting our homeless vets

I’m honored and humbled to be an entertainment provider for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Northampton, MA. So far I’ve DJed three events this year with more to come for the holidays.

I just finished a fabulous outdoor event under the main pavilion where vets were treated to Italian fried dough, giveaways and ice cream sundaes courtesy of Friendly’s.

The VA provides care for over 225 vets (living on campus) who have various disabilities and medical issues. Numbers are off the charts for those seeking out patient services. Soldier On, located at the Northampton Campus is a separate entity from the VA. Their mission is to house homeless vets.

Five martini shakes for staff and volunteers (young and old) for organizing parties during the year that allow vets and their aids to enjoy events with fun food and good music. Double martini shakes for Anne Murray, Voluntary Services Officer for allowing me to be part of the hospitals  entertainment  programming.

Play lists have included: polkas, swing, disco, funk, classic rock, and popular oldies. When I see vets stomping their feet or bobbing their heads to the music, I know I’m on the right track.

For the record, my family is Marine heavy. My grandfather, father and brother served in the Marines. I’m alway’s faithful and ready to rock any type of event for our veterans.

Post Theme Songs:

Born In The USA: Bruce Springsteen

Soldier Boy: The Shirelles

Peace Train: Cat Stevens

A vet with his companion aid, enjoying sweet treats. Rock On.
